The 2022 Looking Up Mural Fest

Looking Up Mural Festival returns to Austin this November for its 2nd year. Once again, our fine city

will be overrun with talented artists, scissor lifts, ladders, and hundreds of gallons of paint. The

10-day international mural festival, created by artists Fabian Rey and Luis Angulo, brings muralists

from the Austin region and around the globe to give new life to building exteriors, rejuvenate

neighborhoods and energize the community. The public will have an opportunity to witness the

creative process in action as the 11 participating artists begin creating their pieces on Friday,

November 11, and continue painting throughout the run of the event.

ABOUT

We want Austin to be known not only for its great music but also for its fantastic art. It's also important to us that women artists are well represented so we added a great group of the most talented women artists to the festival roster. The building owners of each wall have agreed to let the artists paint according to their own unique vision. Free from the typical limitations of commissioned work, this creative freedom allows next-level artistic output that will set these murals apart from others in the city.
